After nearly a decade away from releasing his own music, South African producer and artist Jaca Mf2 returns with Inversion — a deeply personal four-track EP rooted in deep house, reflection and a renewed relationship with music.
For Jaca Mf2, Inversion is more than another release. It represents coming back to something that never really disappeared.
After spending years working across media, production and the creative industry, Jaca found himself returning to the place where much of his creative journey began: music. Not because there was pressure to release, but because there were ideas and emotions that needed somewhere to live.
That return became Inversion.
The EP is built around the deep and soulful house sound that has influenced Jaca throughout his musical journey. Rather than chasing what is currently trending, the project leans into atmosphere, repetition, emotion and the kind of slow-burning musical ideas that reveal themselves differently with every listen.
The title Inversion reflects that change in perspective. Sometimes moving forward requires looking at the same life from another angle. Things that once seemed certain become questions. Things that once felt distant suddenly become important again.
That philosophy runs through the project.
Across its four tracks, Inversion moves between introspection and movement — music made for headphones, late-night drives and dance floors alike. There is a deliberate sense of space throughout the record, allowing the rhythms, melodies and emotions to breathe.
